Companion planting is one of my favorite ways to make the garden work smarter, not harder. š± šæ Basil + TomatoesāØBasil helps deter thrips, tomato hornworms and army worms, plus it attracts pollinators! š¼ DillāØDill attracts beneficial insects like ladybugs, lacewings, and parasitic wasps that help keep garden pests in check. š§ GarlicāØGarlicās strong scent can help mask nearby crops from pests while taking up very little garden space. Itās also one of those crops to ATTRACT bugs like hoverlfies. š± MintāØMint is great for attracting pollinators and may help deter certain pests like ants and flea beetles. Just keep it contained unless you want a mint garden with a few vegetables mixed in. š Radishes + PumpkinsāØRadishes can act as a trap crop for flea beetles and other pests, drawing attention away from young pumpkin plants while also giving you an early harvest before the vines take over.
