Today, we are crowning entrepreneur and founder of Lesbians Who Tech, Leanne Pittsford, as our #QueenoftheWeek 👑 Born and raised in San Diego, CA, Pittsford later moved to San Luis Obispo to study political science at California Polytechnic State University. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree and went on to earn a master’s degree in equity and social justice in education from San Francisco State University. After graduating, Pittsford began her career working for Equality California where she was involved in the fight to overturn Proposition 8, which sought to ban same-sex marriage in the state. It was during her time there that she discovered a passion for tech while managing data and learning to build online fundraising tools for the organization. She went on to found the Lesbian Entrepreneur Mentoring Program and Start Somewhere, a design and technology agency centered on helping nonprofit organizations and social enterprises.
