Avoid this sled pull error
Reaching too far forward.
I just realized I’ve been doing this myself.
Most athletes reach way out in front of their body trying to grab as much rope as possible.
The problem?
You end up compressing yourself.
Your chest collapses.
Your posture breaks down.
And you put yourself in a weak position before the pull even starts.
Instead…
Simply get the slack out of the rope.
Stay tall.
Then walk your hands back and use your entire body to move the sled.
The goal isn’t to reach farther.
The goal is to pull stronger.
One of my biggest takeaways from New York was realizing I’m still leaving time on the table here.
And that’s the cool thing about Hyrox.
You never arrive.
There is always another technique improvement.
Another energy leak to fix.
Another skill to master.
Fitness matters.
But sometimes the fastest way to improve is simply becoming more efficient.
That’s exactly what I’m working on next.
