Today, June 10th, Fisk University alum Rep. Justin Jones led a press conference, joined by other alum, students, and Nashville community members, in protest about the proposed Fisk University AI data center. The data center is a part of their new $1 billion campus expansion Quantum Leap plan, that was released last month. The phrase “If it’s not good for a zoo, it’s not good for an HBCU” is referencing a similar protest currently happening against a proposed AI data center at the Nashville Zoo.
