Natural dye spotlight: TARA. Tara is a light tannin dye from the pods of Caesalpinia tinctoria, a shrubby tree. Tannins have an excellent affinity for cotton and other cellulose fibers, making them a great material for Solid State Clothing's t-shirts. We use tara sustainably sourced by @botanicalcolors to create our Slate color: adding iron creates a beautiful dark gray with a purplish warmth.
