From the 10th man on the bench… to First Team All-Region. @ved_desai0, a junior college hooper at Oxford College of Emory University @oxfordcollegembb, started his basketball journey in 1st grade — but it wasn’t until 7th grade, with the Virginia Playmakers on the Under Armour Circuit, that he locked in seriously. The road wasn’t easy. At one point, Ved barely saw the floor. But when Emory Oxford came calling, he committed on the spot — and never looked back. Freshman year, he faced one of the toughest moments of his career: a hostile road crowd throwing heckles and racial slurs his way. Ved answered the only way he knew how — by dropping 26 points and 20 rebounds to silence the gym. He went on to average 17.3 PPG, 10.5 RPG, and 50% FG — earning First Team All-Region honors in Year 1.
