On Monday, June 15th, the new Las Vegas franchise in the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) announced Kim Weiss as head coach ahead of their inaugural season. Weiss joins PWHL Las Vegas after spending the last two seasons with the Colorado Eagles, American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, where she became the second woman in AHL/NHL history to serve as an assistant coach in a full-time role. Weiss, a native of Potomac, MD, was a four-year player at Trinity College where she accumulated 62 goals & 46 assists for 108 points in 101 career games. She was team captain her final two seasons while earning All-NESCAC honors every season. She set program records for career points and goals as a forward. In her junior season in 2009-2010, she helped the Bantams to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance.
