It started on a beach in Tel Aviv. A kiss before we even knew we were in love. Two Jewish girls who had no idea what they were beginning. 18 years later we have a life that is loudly, fully, without apology both things at once: queer and Jewish. Gay and Zionist. Two moms who built a family of seven through donor conception, IVF, and more love than we knew we were capable of. We’ve watched some spaces try to tell us those identities are in tension. That we have to choose. That being gay and loving Israel and being Jewish can’t live in the same body. Our family is the answer to that. We exist because people before us were visible when visibility cost something. We show up — here, every day, as exactly who we are — because somewhere out there is a queer Jewish kid who needs to see that this life is possible. This family is Pride. It always has been.
