Your shoes might be the most overlooked variable in your training.
Train in running shoes and you’re standing on a soft, unstable platform. Fine for a jog, not great under a deadlift, a swing, or a heavy carry. Squat shoes have their place, but you don’t want a raised heel for everything you do.
For most of your work (deadlifts, KB swings, carries, lunges, even just walking) you want to feel the ground. A flat, foot-shaped, zero-drop shoe lets the foot do its job: spread, grip, drive. That ground connection shows up in your stability and your output.
These are what I’m training in now:
nunorm.shoes. Foot-shaped, zero-drop, wide toe box, built for movement.
