APTN National News received the Canadian Screen Award for Best National Newscast, recognizing excellence in national television journalism. The category also included CBC's The National, CTV National News, and Global National. Former APTN National News host Creeson Agecoutay (Cowessess First Nation) noted that it was the first time APTN National News had won in the category.
