Pope Leo inaugurated the newest spire of Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia, marking another major milestone in the completion of Antoni Gaudí’s modernist masterpiece and making it the tallest church in the world. After celebrating Mass inside the vast, light-filled basilica, the Pope blessed the 172.5-metre (566-foot) Tower of Jesus Christ. The tower is crowned by a five-storey ceramic cross that can be seen across the Catalan capital.
