Former US President Barack Obama says any new agreement with Iran is unlikely to be significantly better than the original nuclear deal negotiated during his administration.
Speaking in remarks broadcast by ABC, Obama said the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) had worked for years before the US withdrew from it in 2018.
He also expressed hope that the bombing would stop and that civilians would no longer suffer from the conflict.
Reflecting on broader foreign policy lessons, Obama argued that countries cannot simply "bully" or "bomb" their way to solutions, urging leaders to exhaust diplomatic options and pursue agreements that can prevent war, even if they do not solve every issue.
