Hailing from Puerto Rico and now playing shortstop for the New York Mets, Francisco Lindor makes clutch plays both on the field and in his communities. One area Francisco cares most about is education. Francisco created the Lindor’s Leaders program to provide high school students a structure to develop leadership skills. At his high school alma mater the Monteverde Academy in Florida, he established the Francisco Lindor Scholarship Fund to support students with tuition assistance. He can often be found distributing school supplies and goods to local students. Francisco shows up for his native Puerto Rico, too. From cleaning up beaches and planting trees, hosting baseball clinics, and responding to damage from hurricanes by restoring buildings and fields and supporting emergency response teams, Francisco has not forgotten his roots.
