#HabitatUncoveR3D with silverbranchfilms Irish filmmaker Katrina Costello explores the connections between wildlife, landscape, and history, uncovering stories that reveal how people and nature have shaped one another over generations. For the past three years, Katrina has been filming hen harriers in the mountains of Kerry for her series Kerry: Tides of Time. Known as the "ghost of the bogs," the hen harrier is one of Ireland's most endangered birds of prey, living largely unseen across remote mountains and peatlands. Capturing its story required extraordinary patience, with more than 1,000 hours spent in camouflage, often living from a camper van so she could be in position before dawn and remain until the last light faded from the hills.
