Known for his elite range, ball skills, and versatility, Downs excelled in coverage, run support, and even special teams, highlighted by a 79-yard punt return touchdown against Indiana.
He capped his college career with major accolades including the 2025 Lott Trophy and Jim Thorpe Award before being selected in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys.
