Jim Mauro, who has overseen Canisius High School’s ascendance to Western New York’s premier high school athletic program, has announced that he will retire after nearly two decades at CHS. “It’s been a great run. It’s just the right time. It’s OK to exhale,” Mauro said. "I’ve truly enjoyed the time and experience here. It was a hard decision – it’s hard to leave because of the people – but I’m looking forward to spending more time with my family.” Mauro spent 19 years at CHS during a career of more than four decades in athletics, including Associate Athletic Director and Head Baseball Coach at Niagara University.
