Get to know FIM legend, Mary McGee! šŸ’Ŗ Mary McGee is widely recognised as a female pioneer in the world of American motocross and off-road desert racing. She successfully overcame gender barriers at a time when women were rarely allowed to compete on the racetrack. Her greatest moment came in 1975 when she became the first person to complete the gruelling scoreinternational Baja 500 race solo. She finished 17th overall despite riding a badly damaged Husqvarna across the harsh Mexican desert! Long before that historic desert run, she earned her official license to compete with the Sports Car Club of America, driving a Mercedes 300SL. This marked her first major breakthrough in the industry. This incredible momentum carried over into 1960 when she stood out as the very first woman to join an international road racing event in the United States!
