Photographed at a large breeding colony of imperial cormorants on New Island in the Falkland Islands, where each spring they return as their plumage shifts into glistening metallic blues. Through ritualized courtship dances, pairs reconnect and reaffirm the bonds that carry the colony into another breeding season.
