Nebraska volleyball is still chasing its first national championship since 2017, but the program's future appears to be in good hands. As Dani Busboom Kelly prepares for her second season as head coach, the Huskers continue to stockpile talent through recruiting, assembling two classes loaded with nationally recognized prospects. The newest additions come from Nebraska's 2028 recruiting class, which already features two of the nation's top young players. Milford standout Shayla Rautenberg announced her commitment earlier this week, giving Nebraska one of the most accomplished athletes in the state. The 6-foot-3 middle blocker helped lead Milford to state championships in both volleyball and basketball during the past school year. On the volleyball court, Rautenberg averaged 5.6 kills per set while hitting .366 and recording 108 blocks. She also helped Team USA win gold at the 2025 NORCECA U19 Pan American Cup.
