The fastest athletes aren’t the ones who run fast. They’re the ones who can stop on a dime. Speed doesn’t injure you. Stopping does. Your body has to absorb 3-5x your bodyweight every time you land, cut, or change direction. If your tissue can’t handle that force, your joints take the hit. That’s where ACL tears, knee pain, and ankle sprains come from - poor deceleration. We train deceleration four ways: 1. Heavy Recoil Drop Squats - Force absorption under load. Teach the body to stop mass without collapsing. 2. Forced Rebound - Elastic redirection. The nervous system learns to absorb impact and immediately redirect it. Not just stop. Reverse. 3.
