Rep. Shontel Brown (D-Ohio) is responding directly to Rep. James Comer (R-Kentucky) after he made racially charged remarks about her on national television. Comer went on One America News and said Brown's "sole purpose in life is more welfare, more welfare for her people" while debating Medicaid funding. He then said "my people are sick and tired of paying for welfare for able-bodied people." Brown didn't let it slide. "Keep my name out of your mouth. When you talk about your people versus my people, not only is it divisive, but it's giving racist." But she didn't stop there. She did her homework first. "200,000 of your constituents count on Medicaid. This is not about my people versus your people — this is about everyone being able to have healthcare, the healthcare that they need, the healthcare that they deserve." šŸ”— Full story at blavity.com #Blavity #ShontelBrown #JamesComer #Medicaid
