Saab has revealed Nimbrix, its first dedicated Counter-Unmanned Aerial System (C-UAS) missile— a missile specifically designed to stop one of the fastest-growing threats on the battlefield: drone swarms.

The Swedish defense company developed Nimbrix as a low-cost, fire-and-forget missile capable of taking out single drones or entire swarms. With a range of up to 5 km/3miles, the missile uses an active seeker to track its target and a high-explosive fragmentation warhead with an air-burst mode for maximum effectiveness.

Nimbrix is being built with affordability in mind...Saab is incorporating additive manufacturing & off-the-shelf commercial and military parts to keep costs low. This approach allows militaries to deploy the missile in greater numbers—an important factor as drones become an everyday weapon in modern conflicts.
