The Pentagon is opening new opportunities for the DoD civilian workforce...as of this week, civilians who work for the military can now volunteer for temporary duties of up to 180 days with DHS along the U.S. southern border. Already 500 people have reportedly signed up to work with agencies such as Immigration & Customs Enforcement, CBP & FEMA...most in areas such as data analysis, logistics, linguistics, targeting & HR-type jobs. . Eligible civilians keep their usual pay & benefits (with opportunities for overtime) and gain additional training and experience in other agencies. The program runs through Sept 2026...we’ll see how many people sign up over the coming months. . Meanwhile, the Pentagon also announced the creation of the Mexican Border Defense Medal (MBDM) for service members who have deployed in support of these types of ops.
