Today, on World Sickle Cell Day, we honor the strength, resilience, and lived experiences of individuals and families affected by sickle cell disease. For more than 50 years, Howard University has been a leader in sickle cell research, treatment, advocacy, and patient care through our Center for Sickle Cell Disease. As we continue advancing scientific discovery and expanding access to quality care, we remain committed to improving outcomes for communities disproportionately impacted by this disease.
