We’ve been coming to myfathersplace for about 20 years, and I still make a point to stop every time I’m in McCall. Shane always comes here after hunting. The burgers, fries, shakes, char-grilled chicken sandwiches, huckleberry everything, and some of the best fry sauce in Idaho keep us coming back. They’ve grown quite a bit over the years. There’s now expanded outdoor seating, My Uncle’s Tapshack serving cold beer, and a full summer concert series happening behind the restaurant. We also got to chat with some of the owners and learned how the restaurant got its name. The original restaurant on this spot was owned by their grandfather. When his daughter took over and changed to this new concept in 1989, the family couldn’t land on a name. The owner kept referring to it as “my father’s place,” and it stuck.
