The largest group of Diego Giacometti armchairs ever offered at auction will soon come to
#SothebysParis from the collection of François Rochas. It features more than 130 works from his apartment in the 7th arrondissement, celebrating the freedom of creation and the inventiveness of the artists it brings together.
At the heart of this collection is an exceptional selection of works by Diego Giacometti, acquired directly from the artist in the 1980s. Highlights include a console along with a remarkable group of 10 armchairs with lioness-head and cane-handle finials. Works Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne, Édouard-Marcel Sandoz, Gustave Hierholzer, Chana Orloff round out this refined collection.
