Not quite.
Today I spent an hour on a live webinar talking about renting property in Spain, and one of the biggest things people underestimate is the process itself.
In reality, renting usually looks like this:
1️⃣ Prepare your documents first
Ideally before you even start searching:
✔️ Spanish bank account
✔️ Proof of income
✔️ Employment or business documents
✔️ Bank statements
Many great apartments go to the person who sends a complete document package first.
2️⃣ View properties in person
I always recommend seeing apartments while you’re already in Spain. Photos don’t show everything, and unfortunately some listings aren’t even real.
3️⃣ Reserve the property
Usually with around €1,000 or one month’s rent while the landlord reviews your application.
