“I’m not a morning person.” I have said this for most of my adult life. And it’s been true. My body loves slow. Loves ease. Dim lighting, silk pillowcases, a whole hour of just existing before the day asks anything of me. Getting up fast? Hard no. But I made a decision: I am a morning person now. My body just hasn’t gotten the memo yet! LOL! And I keep coming back to this: the things we say about ourselves aren’t just descriptions. They’re instructions. When you repeat a story long enough, it stops feeling like a story. It starts to feel like a fact. It’s not a fact. It’s a pattern. And patterns can change the moment you decide they will even if your nervous system takes a little longer to catch up. I’m in the middle of changing a lot of patterns right now.
