About 18 months, I decided to start painting with my kids, since the table was covered with art supplies at all times. I've avoided ANY sort of art mediums, other than photography, since I was a kid. I didn't like art class in school. Part ADD, part I didn't know how to do anything and the teachers never really showed me the way. I believed my entire life, until age 41, that I wasn't capable of making a stick figure look like a stick figure. But I've always admired good art. I have wonderfully gifted aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that paint, and my kids and wife had really grown in their skills as artists. I was tired of wishing, so I decided to give it a try.
