This will probably be the last thing I say about this situation unless you guys ask for an update… I’ve spent the last few days reflecting, and the biggest takeaway for me is actually pretty simple: Treat EVERYONE with dignity and respect. Not because of their title, because of their influence, because of who they know, or what they can do for you, but because they’re human beings. The same respect you give the CEO should be the same respect you give the receptionist, the janitor, the intern, the server, and the Black woman sitting across from you in an interview... Thank you to everyone who has supported me, checked on me, prayed for me, given advice, and shared their own stories over the last few days as I’ve dealt with this.
