I found this pic buried in my Google Photos. This is me and my buddy Tom on our first combat mission during Operation Urgent Fury in 1983. And yes, we’re wearing OD green jungle fatigues because we still had Vietnam era gear in the Army at the time. I was 19 years old, an Airborne Infantry squad leader, with 1/505th Abn Inf., 82d Airborne Division. 🇺🇸 We lost 19 soldiers KIA on that operation, and 116 wounded in action.
