This photo was taken last summer, experiencing the amazing sight of the sun dying over the Atlantic Ocean, at one of the westernmost points of Europe. The closest coast on the other side of the Atlantic would be New York... That's why the Romans called our land the end of the world. I am getting mentally ready to experience the total solar eclipse that will happen in Galicia next August 12th. My daughter and I will be spending a whole month in my ancient homeland. There is something special about that region—echoes from a remote and primitive past that always call us to come back. But for now, after a wonderful two-day retreat with my Buddhist community, I'm focusing on the last stretch to become a certified meditation teacher through the Buddhist Studies Institute, led by Pema Khandro Rinpoche.
