Now Open: ‘Yoko Matsumoto: Gazed at by Nature’ at White Cube Seoul ✨⁠ ⁠ Surveying Yoko Matsumoto’s career-defining pursuit of luminosity, ‘Gazed at by Nature’ brings together paintings and works on paper from 1985 to the present day.⁠ ⁠ In an essay accompanying the exhibition, art historian Reiko Tomii writes: ‘Taken together, her works speak to her ambition and tenacity in overcoming the negative legacy of modernism in her homeland by creating something uniquely her own.
