Cabrera became Georgia Tech’s 12th president in 2019 and has led the institute through remarkable growth. Enrollment has increased by 55% during his tenure to 56,000 students — making us the largest university in the state. Under his guidance, Georgia Tech has surpassed $1.4 billion in research awards and is a top-ranked university in the country in total research expenditures among institutions without a medical school.
With Cabrera, Georgia Tech has developed major research centers in AI, neuroscience, and space. He has continued to position Georgia Tech as a global research institute dedicated to progress and service in Atlanta, the state of Georgia, the nation, and the world.
