Welcome back to Part 2 of giving my son’s mini truck the same upgrades as my truck. This time, we added matching retractable bed covers. For my truck, I installed a RetraxPRO FRC 4000 Retractable Tonneau Cover from realtruck . It was easy to install, opens and closes incredibly smoothly, and one of my favorite features is the quick-release system that lets me remove the cover whenever I need full access to the bed for larger cargo. Then, for my son’s truck, I built a miniature retractable bed cover using a car window shade to mimic the same functionality as my FRC 4000, and honestly, it turned out pretty awesome. Having lockable storage in the back of our trucks is a game changer, especially when the cover can be removed in just a few minutes whenever you need full access to the bed.
