Faculty like to take field trips, too! 🐅 On Monday, our Career Champions Institute cohort had the chance to learn about leadership in the wild with Alexandria Zoological Park Director Landon Proctor! Not only did we get to hang out with some tortoises and receive a behind the scenes tour of the zoo’s facilities, Landon also shared valuable leadership insights that he’s gained during his time as Zoo Director and previous leadership roles. We had a great conversation about how communicating effectively with employees of all ages and backgrounds can make or break an organization’s success and how pausing before making decisions can ease tensions for both leaders and employees. Our Career Champions look forward to translating these insights into how they can be better educators and prepare students for their future careers!
