Federal officials have announced indictments against 15 Minnesotans, alleging they participated in a coordinated anti-ICE conspiracy targeting federal law enforcement officers and facilities during recent immigration enforcement actions in the Twin Cities. During a press conference, federal prosecutors described the actions as "coordinated violence" and alleged ties to local Antifa groups.
However, despite the sweeping conspiracy charges, federal authorities repeatedly declined to say whether any officers sustained injuries during the encounters. A review of federal court records shows that only two of the 15 individuals indicted are facing explicit charges for actually assaulting or impeding an agent. Defense attorneys and protesters held a rally Tuesday afternoon in response to the charges, while some defendants have begun speaking out about their arrests as the high-profile cases move to federal court.
