Five dogs were found in crates outside a Phoenix apartment complex after police say they were left without food or water for about a week. Officers were flagged down near 40th Street and McDowell Road while on another call. According to court documents, the dogs were found in two crates and were taken to a veterinary hospital. One dog later passed away, and two others were seriously hurt. Police say 34-year-old Andre Magee first told officers the dogs belonged to him and his girlfriend, then later claimed they were only hers.
