Border Patrol agents detained 13 people near Nogales after officials say the group was found crossing through a remote part of the Sonoran Desert.
According to the USBP Chief, one person in the group was also identified as allegedly having ties to a criminal organization.
Officials say remote desert operations like this are part of ongoing efforts to monitor Arizona’s southern border and respond to illegal crossings in difficult terrain.
