Zipline is rolling out its drone delivery system in the Valley, using autonomous aircraft that can fly to a location, hover above the drop point, and lower packages down by cable. The drones don’t land, don’t need a pilot, and are designed to complete some deliveries in minutes. Zipline has already completed millions of deliveries globally, including medical supplies and retail items, and Phoenix is part of the company’s next phase in U.S. cities.
