Most people have seen the white pyramid in Papago Park, but not everyone knows what’s actually inside.
The pyramid is the tomb of George W. P. Hunt, Arizona’s first governor.
Hunt served seven terms as governor and helped lead Arizona after it officially became a state in 1912.
After he passed away in 1934, the pyramid was built as his final resting place — and it’s still sitting in the middle of Phoenix today.
It’s one of those Arizona facts that sounds fake until you realize people drive past it all the time.
Did you already know what this pyramid was?
