I know that sounds crazy, especially in photography… but it’s true. In the real world, coaches, athletes, brands, and teams don’t hire you just because you can take a clean photo. A lot of photographers can shoot sharp images. A lot of people can edit nicely. That’s not rare anymore. What actually gets you hired as a photographer (especially in sports photography) is: ✅ being reliable ✅ being easy to work with ✅ delivering fast ✅ communicating clearly ✅ showing up consistently ✅ building relationships ✅ and making people want to work with you again Your photos get attention… but your professionalism gets you paid. The photographers who stay booked aren’t always the “best” ones on Instagram — they’re the ones who understand networking, access, and trust. Because access leads to better angles, better moments, and better opportunities.
