🏳️‍🌈✊🏾 Black LGBTQ+ people have been an integral part of LGBTQ+ history and the fight for LGBTQ+ rights and freedom. 🏳️‍🌈✊🏾 This Pride Month, we’ve partnered with our friends at the humanrightscampaign to honor and celebrate Black LGBTQ+ historical figures and modern trailblazers who have fought and continue to fight to make the world a better place. Today, both Black and LGBTQ+ people are experiencing an onslaught of attacks on our freedoms and rights. Our intersecting identities demand we defend Black LGBTQ+ people’s right to exist, access healthcare and public services, and tell our history. While Pride Month is a celebration of our community’s beauty, joy and resilience, pride has and will always be a protest. All LGBTQ+ people, including Black LGBTQ+ people and our allies, must come together to protect our legacy and our future.
