What many people may not realize is that much of this work is carried out by women. Women who search. Women who document. Women who make the calls. Women who spend their weekends helping locate the lost and provide answers to families. That context matters. Over the years, Battalion Search & Rescue volunteers have experienced repeated hostility, false accusations, public criticism, and the disclosure of personal information by members of the Doña Ana County Sheriff's Office.
