The circuit falls quiet at Sydney Motorsport Park, and the new Bentley Supersports sits low, taut, and self-assured, as if motion is optional. Everything about it suggests it has already done the hard work.
Rear-wheel drive, for the first time – and with it, a shift in character. Total weight reduced to below two tonnes, and a 666 PS twin-turbo V8 delivers its intent – a more direct, less filtered kind of performance.
It’s not about headline speed as much as how it goes about its business. Up to 1.3g in the corners tells you plenty, but more telling is the sense of balance engineered into it – the way everything has been reduced to serve the driver.
Inside, the rear seats have gone entirely, replaced by a two-seat layout. What remains is focused, deliberate, and entirely centred on the act of driving.
And then there’s the rarity. Just 500 cars, each individually numbered.
