In the early hours of Saturday, two freight trains crashed in Munich causing two of the carriages to crash to the ground below, a local fire brigade spokesman said. "At around 1.40 am (2340gmt) today, we were called out to a train accident in which two trains appear to have collided, derailed and, in part, fallen off a bridge," Munich fire brigade spokesman Johannes Schorer said.
