Botswana’s Okavango Delta is one of the world’s largest wetlands, sustained by the annual floodwaters arriving from the Angolan highlands. Since 2015, the National Geographic Okavango Wilderness Project (IntotheOkavango) has been surveying and collecting scientific data on this river system and working with local communities, NGOs and the governments of Angola, Namibia and Botswana to secure permanent, sustainable protection for the greater Okavango Watershed.
