Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the day freedom finally reached the last enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, Texas.
Today, we celebrate the strength, resilience, culture, and achievements of Black communities while acknowledging the painful legacy of slavery and the ongoing pursuit of justice and equity. May we honor this history not only through reflection, but through action.
Happy Juneteenth!
