Stickers are one of the most powerful open-ended creative materials you can put out for any age… if you stop treating them like a reward. (COMMENT STICKERS FOR LINKS) A 2-year-old and a 16-year-old can sit down with the same tray and do completely different things with them. No skill required. No right answer. No finished product to aim for. You peel, you press, you’ve made something that is yours. That is not an accident. That is by design. But most families keep stickers in a drawer, hand them out one at a time, or avoid them entirely because they’re afraid of where they’ll end up. So kids never get to use them as a real creative material. And we miss the whole thing. ➡️This week’s Something Playful: The Sticker Edit — ages 2 through teen / what kind to actually buy (this matters more than you think) / the divided tray trick / when they end up on the wall and what to do about it / sticker resist with watercolors for big kids.
