A woman allegedly had her hijab FORCIBLY REMOVED near Bayshore Shopping Centre‼️😨🧕💔 According to investigators, the suspect allegedly approached the woman WITHOUT provocation, directed a racial slur toward her, forcibly removed her hijab, and then allegedly threw an umbrella at her before fleeing the area. Ottawa police say the incident happened around 3 p.m. Saturday on Woodridge Crescent, near Bayshore Shopping Centre and are now on the lookout for the suspect. Police say the woman was not physically injured. The Ottawa Police Hate Crime Unit, along with the West Criminal Investigations Section, is investigating the incident as a suspected hate-motivated assault.
